Gibson Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble - Honey Burst Gloss

The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble delivers all the features and performance of Gibson’s regular Les Paul Standard 50s models but with even more vintage appeal.

These limited run Les Paul models differ from the standard Les Paul Standard models in two respects. First, the Burstbucker™ 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups are left uncovered, and each has Double Classic White bobbins and is fitted with the standard Alnico 2 magnets. The second difference is in the finish which are “Vintage” variations on the standard nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. Standard gloss nitrocellulose lacquer represent the finishes on brand-new models from the 1950s, while the full-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer Vintage on the Les Paul Standard Double Trouble models are slightly faded, like the subtly light vintage aging that occurs over several years. The burst patterns vary somewhat from guitar to guitar since each is individually hand-sprayed.

Of course, all the features that make the Les Paul Standard 50s models so widely loved are all still here, including a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body with an AA figured maple top and a rounded 50s Vintage-style mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and trapezoid inlays. The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble is equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, an aluminium Stop Bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons, and aged gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers. The uncovered, calibrated Burstbucker™ 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are internally the same as their standard Burstbucker counterparts, except for the Double Classic White bobbins.

They are handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop, loaded with Alnico 2 magnets, and hand-wired with audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors. The Double Classic White pickup bobbins and Vintage finishes combine to give the Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble an elegant vintage vibe. While they have a vintage-style finish and an accessible price, production is limited to only 500 guitars in each colour, meaning there’s limited availability, so act fast and get your favourite now while you still can!
